Quick Green Screen Set Up Tip + Balance your Life

Let's talk about green screen setups shall we? I could write all day but lets get in to the down and dirty. Real quick!

1)Grab 2 lights that are bright and shine them directly on the green screen.Put them close to the screen.

2)Then grab an actor, hopefully cute, and put them 5-10 feet infront of the green screen.

3) Once they are placed in that position start your 3 point lighting. That is, place the camera first in front on the actor and line up your shot.

4)Then put a keylight(main or brightest) to the right of the camera, maybe 45 deghrees.

5)Then on the opposite side place a fill light, reflector or soft box. Why you may ask? To help reduce the shadow from the key or main light.

6)Finally put a light behind the actor to the right or left and raise the light and shine it down on top of the actors hair. You guessed it. This is the hair-light which helps the actor "pop!".

7)Once you film. Send into final cut or whatever editing software you are using. Get rid of the green and you can place this image infront of almost any background. That's my quick, down and dirty tip! Can't go wrong with this one!

8) Plus my motivation for the day is to BALANCE out all aspects of your life. Whether you're shooting a film, going to a day job, paying bills, or taking care of the kids.
8a)Write a list everyday of your must do's and do it! I would also put on the list, potential things you can do. If you don't get to the potentials, then the next day they become your MUST DO'S! With this strategy you can't lose in life or filmmaking. By the way they are interconnected!
